The Reveal of Battlefield 2042 Has Caused EA to Increase Battlefield 4’s Server Capacity

EA, publisher of the immensely popular Battlefield series recently announced the latest installment, Battlefield 2042. The announcement was made during the first-ever fully virtual E3 event that took place last week.

The recent announcement has led to fans of the series jumping into Battlefield 4 to get a feel for what Battlefield 2042 might bring them.

EA’s community manager started off a recent blog post writing “We were absolutely blown away by your excitement and reactions to the recent Battlefield 2042 reveal.”

“Since then, many of you have jumped back into Battlefield 4 to already get a taste of the return to all-out-warfare. We’ve been monitoring your experience and noticed queue times in the US West region were far longer than in other regions. Good news, we’ve increased server capacity for this region – you can expect less waiting, and more playing.”

He finished the post by writing “We’ll continue monitoring queue times and will make further adjustments as necessary.”

Battlefield 2042 is set to release on October 22, 2021, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Both last-gen consoles will be getting the game as well. There’s been no official announcement from EA or DICE on cross-play between the different platforms.
